Walter Niedermayr - Momentary Resorts

With the show and accompanying catalogue entitled Reserves of the Instant, Walter Niedermayr reconnects, six years later, with the project called "The Pale Mountains." That initial project, exhibited at AR/GE Kunst, enjoyed a considerable measure of international success, among the critics as well as the public, and received the European Photography Award for 1995. In this new investigation, the artist once again turns his attention to the regions of the Alps. Reserves of the Instant sets itself the artistic task of revealing the ambivalence and ambiguity of the scenarios presented by a burgeoning free-time industry in the midst of mountain landscapes.
