Architectur in Cortina d'Ampezzo 1950-56

The show presents the projects that Eduoard Gellner elaborated in the period from 1950 to 1956, and collected together beneath the title A Polemic with the Rustic, referring back to the title of a section of the monograph edited by Franco Mancuso and published by Electa in 1996. This title represents an in many ways desperate reply to the demand for easy and stereotyped "mountain architecture" as seen in the constructions of the town of Cortina D'Ampezzo during its period of rapid growth and burgeoning prestige in the panorama of the tourist trade in the period of the 1950s.
